Almost a year!

Oscar isnt in hospital and he will hopfully be going to the doctors for some more meds tomorrow!
My poor little man. His last surgery on his bottom was almost a year ago, Can you believe it? A year of hell for my little man. The first year of his life wasmainly doctors visits and surgerys and when he had his final surgery it was pretty much pain from then on!
Just to explain his surgerys...
#1 was at two days old, they had to put the colostomy bag on
#2 they attempted to connect his bowel to his bottom but it didnt work
#3 They succefully connected his bowel to his bottom
#4 they created the bottom hole! (oscar had to be probed 2ce a day to keep the hole open, this hurt him alot for the first few months but he got used to it after a while)
#5, not to sure? SORRY!
#6 they removed the colostomy bag and Oscar started using his bottom!

So it was surgery after surgery! And when he finally got a new bottom it was PAIN :(

When he poo's it just burns his bottom (The skin isnt used to the acids in the poop)

Ifyou have ever had a tiny burn on your finger you know how painful it is,
Imagin that but really bad covering your bottom! I can only imagin the pain my littleman goes through!
Almost every day he screams for hours in pain and there is nothing we can do! Heartbreaking!

However, God has given my little man SO much strength, through this all he has smiled!

Please continue to pray for Ozzy boy, Pray for a pain free life! Pray for a happily ever after :)

  1. Bless his little heart! Mason is very sensitive to acid in food---he has a hard time with most fruits & veggies. We keep him away from the most acidic (tomato, citrus, tropical fruits), and then give him an antacid (we have to use plain baking soda, because he is also intolerant of the corn additives in traditional antacids--but Oscar could probably handle 1/2 a crumbled Maalox or Rolaid if the Dr. says it's okay). It helps trememdously---if we don't, his hiney looks like he's been scalded!

  2. Ashley... thanks, I'll pass it on!
Did Mason have the same thing as Oscar? Or does he just get bad nappy rash?
